There’s still time to see this exhibit, which also includes several works from the late W. Robert Tolley, one of the original founders of DCA. Bob passed away in 2017, but left a legacy that will continue for generations to come. Through his efforts and those of Shirley Brannock and John Bannon – all graduates of the Maryland Institute of Art, educators and practicing painters – DCA was founded in 1970 and continues to serve as a cultural arts center. The annual members’ show was named in his honor for 2018, and will be in the galleries through Sunday January 28, 2018.

Next up in the galleries – “Texture, Color and Light: A February Escape”. This multi-artist exhibit features oil paintings by Susan Dickinson, quilts by Irene Chandler, fiber arts by Sarah Jillard, and wearable art by Barbara Stone. Opens February 2, with a Second Saturday Artists’ Reception on February 10, 2018.

Artful Interest Groups

DCA takes pride in offering a wide range of arts activities to the community that assists with the growth and development of artists and their craft. In additional to a full instructional calendar, several interest groups call DCA home, including Friday Morning Drawing, Baywater Camera Club, Fiber Art Fridays, Choptank Writers, and Tuesday Open Paint, that provide opportunities for artists to gather with like-minded others in an inclusive environment.
