The proceeds of the National Honors Society Queen Anne’s County High School Chapter’s Saint Patrick’s Day 5K Color Run will benefit Compass Regional Hospice.
The 5K Color Run will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Queen Anne’s County High School, 125 Ruthsburg Road in Centreville. The first group of runners will start the race at 9:00 a.m.
Registration is $15 for students and $25 for anyone 10 and older that is not a student. Participants who pre-register will receive an event t-shirt and colored powder to throw during the run. Concessions will be sold at the event.
National Honors Society President, Paige Richardson says, “This event supports a local cause that we care about and will be fun for people of all ages. While running the route, the runners will become covered head to toe in colored powder.”
“We chose to support Compass Regional Hospice because it is an organization close to home,” says Kylee Mills, National Honors Society Vice President. “Each of us knows someone whose life has been personally impacted by Compass’ hospice care or grief support services, so we wanted to give back.”

As a non‐profit organization, Compass Regional Hospice relies on financial support from the community to provide services not covered by Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance. Including room and board at our hospice centers, grief support services offered through the Hope & Healing Center and other patient support services such as the Bridges program.

Compass Regional Hospice is a fully licensed, independent, community-based nonprofit organization certified by Medicare and the State of Maryland, and accredited by the Joint Commission. Since 1985, Compass Regional Hospice has been dedicated to supporting people of all ages through the challenge of living with a life-limiting illness and learning to live following the death of a loved one. Today the organization is a regional provider of hospice care and grief support in Queen Anne’s, Kent and Caroline counties. “Care on your terms” is the promise that guides staff and volunteers as they care for patients in private residences, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and the residential hospice centers in Centreville and Denton. Grief support services are offered to children, adults and families of patients who died under hospice care, as well as members of the community who are grieving the loss of a loved one through The Hope & Healing Center.
