Art on High is pleased to announce the opening of Barbara Parker’s one-woman exhibition “East of the Edge” at Tsunami, in heart of downtown Annapolis. The show features more than twenty original works by the noted local artist. The opening reception will take place on Thursday, July 21 beginning at 8:00 p.m. and her works will be on display through August 21, 2016.

Parker lives and works just outside of Chestertown, on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. She takes her inspiration from the beautiful landscape that surrounds her studio, as well as early influences from Asian artistic styles. In this show, Parker juxtaposes the two seemingly incongruous con-cepts into a cohesive and vibrant show. The works on display encompass the wide range of Parker’s talents from realism to abstract.

Tsunami Restaurant, located at 51 West Street in Annapolis, is known regionally for its artist exhibitions as well as its sushi and cocktails. Participation in Tsunami’s art exhibitions is by invi-tation only, and Parker’s inclusion as a solo artist represents a significant honor. All of the works will be available for sale on location.
