December 15, 2016
As the year 2016 comes to a close it is time to look around and see, as a lover of the arts, how fortunate you are to be living on Maryland’s Eastern Shore and Delaware. A place where you don’t have to go far to find some great artists, visual as well as performing, galleries and performance halls.
Many of these galleries and performances halls are run as non-profits. They survive on not only your attendance to their performances, but also monetary gifts. And this time of the year is also the time where people are looking for non-profits to support.
I could name many, but if I did I would probably miss a few. What I will ask of you is to remember 2016. Did you go someplace to see a musicians, a play, an art gallery, or someplace else art related. Did your enjoy yourself? Would you feel empty if it wasn’t there?
Without your support it may not be there the next time you want to see a show, hear a musician play, or see fantastic art. Give to help these places continue to entertain.
It’s also the time of the year that artists are selling their works. They may be selling at a number of different places. Their On-line store, at Galleries (their own or others) or at markets and fairs. They are your average small business. A purchase from your local artist will not only put a smile on their face but also the one who you give their art to as a present. And I’m sure will have you smiling too.
