The 7th Annual KENT MASSIVE – Chestertown, MD on September 2, 2017
The Eastern Shore’s homegrown alternative music festival brings the show outside, and makes it free.
Kent Massive is a youth-focused alternative music festival that has been bringing diverse artists and audiences together to give inspiration and drive to the area’s music scene since 2011. This year we are bringing the festival to the High Street landing, and are for the first time planning it as a free event.
The local talent featured includes heavy metal band Dogs & Day Drinkers, pop-punk band The 47, alternative rock band Veranda, and singer-songwriter Leak, the Cricket. Also playing are a few artists from across the Chester River Bridge (The LoopStation and Creative Mind-Sets are from Centreville) and even from across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. VeVe Marley will be coming from DC, and while rising star Kotic Couture grew up in Kent County he is now based in Baltimore.
The Eastern Shore’s newest fusion BBQ restaurant will be set up on site, and there will also be various art and merchandise for sale.
Kent Massive’s main goals are:
– To present a wide range of performers and creators that reflects the diversity of our communities and offers an expansion of their musical and artistic interests.
– To provide a platform for local youth artists to perform alongside professional musicians they look up to, giving opportunities for networking and mentorship.
– To provide spaces for local youth to enjoy and support their peers’ emerging careers as artists at venues that are accessible in terms of cost and location.
