Queen Anne’s County Arts Council
August 14, 2017
This week’s Thursdays in the Park concert will be at Hemingway’s on Route 8. Featuring Chesapeake Sons. We usually pass the hat and take donations to benefit the Queen Anne’s County Arts Council, but in this time of great need in our community, we are giving every last dollar to Kent Island families in need.
Our last concert at Hemingway’s, on July 27th, we raised $1807 to benefit Kent Island families in their time of greatest need. Once again, we’ll be partnering with Kent Island Elks Post 2576 to get money directly to families who lost their homes. Please consider joining us this Thursday evening for some time with friends and family, and maybe bringing a dollar or two.
WE ARE NOT ABLE TO ACCEPT DONATIONS OF GOODS. We are able to channel donations of money only, cash or checks (made out to QACAC) work. If you would like to donate physical goods, please contact your local VFD for proper locations and details of what is needed most.
Hemingway’s Restaurant has requested that guests refrain from bringing coolers. Food and drink will be on sale from Hemingway’s itself.
Rock out on Chesapeake Bay with Chesapeake Sons at Hemingway’s August 17th 7:00 pm
Grab your cowboy hat and get started with a taste of country with the Chesapeake Sons at Hemingway’s. Local favorites Chesapeake Sons will bring a taste of country to the Hemingway’s Restaurant waterfront lawn on Pier 1 Road in Stevensville. Influenced by the Black Crowes, these guys have opened for ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd. With deep roots here on the Shore, they will deliver a well-paced energetic show with a variety of material that will appeal to everyone!
Come enjoy the picturesque setting and be ready to dance! Food and beverages will be available for sale.
