Vendor applications still being accepted for some events

Newark, DE – The City of Newark Parks and Recreation Department announced a full calendar of events slated for the upcoming fall and holiday seasons. These free, family-friendly events are open to the public.

Community Day

What: Newark Community Day will bring together local businesses and organizations, along with representatives from the University of Delaware and the Christina School District for a day filled with vendors, live entertainment and fun.
When: Sunday, September 17, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Where: University of Delaware Green
Note: The rain date is Sunday, September 24

Annual Halloween Parade & Trick or Treat Main Street
What: Ghosts, goblins, fairies, and princesses will take over Main Street for the annual Halloween Parade and Trick or Treat Main Street.
When: Sunday, October 29, from 3 – 5 p.m.
Where: E. Main Street, Newark

3rd Annual NewBark PawLooza
What: Newark will be going to the dogs during this annual event that features pet-friendly activities, contests, rescue groups and vendors.
When: Saturday, November 4, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Where: Handloff Park, 1000 Barksdale Road, Newark

Turkey Trot 10K Run and 5K Run / Walk
What: This annual event is a great way to get active with the whole family. Overall and age group prizes are awarded, as well as raffles from local businesses.
When: Saturday, November 18, at 9 a.m.
Where: Handloff Park, 1000 Barksdale Road, Newark

What: Usher in the holiday season with the annual tree lighting, visits with Santa, caroling, roasting chestnuts and more.
When: Friday, December 1, from 6 – 8 p.m.
Where: Academy Lawn (corner of E. Main & Academy Streets)
Note: The rain date is Saturday, December 2.

Snack with Santa & Santa’s Secret Shoppe
What: These two events are a great way for children to get into the holiday spirit with crafts, games, and visits with Santa. Children can also purchase gifts for their families at pint-sized prices at Santa’s Secret Shoppe.
When: Saturday, December 2, at 9:30 a.m.
Where: George Wilson Center, 303 New London Rd, Newark

Community Day and the NewBark PawLooza are great opportunities for vendors as well. Whether looking to sell products or represent a non-profit looking for new avenues to distribute information for an organization, City of Newark events may be the perfect fit.
