This class is for anyone with an interest in writing songs. This includes folks interested in writing but with no musical experience as well as those who play a musical instrument but have only played songs written by other people. Experienced songwriters welcome, too. You do not have to play an instrument, and what you write about is up to you! The objective of the course is for all participants to write one or more songs. To help reach that goal, class will include discussion about favorite songs and what makes them appealing; the primary songwriting parts (verse, chorus, etc.) and structures; sources for songwriting topics and fun writing exercises to help create lyrics; and support for each other through the writing process. So come write a song!
