Rehoboth Art League
REHOBOTH BEACH, DE – September 5, 2017
Have you always wanted to learn how to paint with either watercolors or acrylics? Now is the time for you to take advantage of the Rehoboth Art League’s acrylic and watercolor painting classes being offered in September.
Acrylic painting is a great medium for beginner painters because it dries quickly and is very forgiving. If you are not happy with an area you have painted, you can let it dry and paint right over it in a matter of minutes. You can learn “Acrylic Painting Basics” on Tuesday afternoons from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., September 26 through October 17. This four-week class will introduce participants to composition as well as painting and brush techniques. Local instructor Myndi Smithers will also cover color theory and mixing acrylic colors. The cost for this series of acrylic painting classes is $100 for members and $135 for non-members.
Many people shy away from using watercolor because they fear that it is too difficult to control. While it is true that watercolor is a medium that is challenging to master, it is very easy and economical to get started, and once you do, you will find that it becomes less daunting as you progress. “Watercolor Painting Basics,” offered on Tuesday evenings beginning September 26 through October 17, 2017 from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m., will help you learn how to make this medium work for you. Brush techniques and water control will be practiced and experimentation will be encouraged. Drawing for watercolor paintings, composition, and developing your personal style will be emphasized. The cost for this series of watercolor painting classes is $100 for members and $135 for non-members.
