Bring your list and discover hand-crafted treasures for all those special someones in the “Gallery of Gifts” Exhibit and the Studioworks Gift Shop at DCA. Open until 9 p.m. for your shopping convenience! Visitors can also enjoy hot tea and cider, and the festive display of origami cranes throughout the galleries.
Holiday Greeting Cards and Gift Tags Workshop
Saturday, December 9, 3:00-5:00 p.m.
Crafty holiday fun with instructor Brittany Andrew, using stamps, paper, ribbon, glitter and more to make beautiful and fun cards and tags for the holidays. Kid and adult friendly. All materials are provided. Youth under 16 years of age please be accompanied by an adult. Admission is free, reservations advised: 410-228-7782.
Second Saturday Holiday Reception
December 9, 5:00-7:30 p.m. with Community Choir Sing, Carol Bech on piano
Enjoy festive refreshments accompanied by uplifting seasonal song from local church choirs lining the grand staircase. Enjoy the exhibit by Wednesday Morning Artists and Friends, and view hand-crafted artisan works perfect for gift giving, including jewelry, sculpture, photographs, fiber art, paintings, ceramics, metal, glass and more.
Chorus of Dorchester Annual Christmas Concert

Share the joy of the holiday season in the George B. Todd Performance Hall at DCA. The Chorus of Dorchester is an all-volunteer multi-generational group which sings for the joy that music brings to their lives and to the community. Since its founding in 1975 as The Bi-centennial Chorus by choral conductor, Cookie Brohawn, the Chorus of Dorchester has been an active and evolving organization providing concerts in a variety of venues throughout Maryland. For nine consecutive years it sang with the University of Maryland Studio Orchestra for the Maryland You Are Beautiful program held in Annapolis, MD.
The Chorus is partially funded by the Nathan Foundation, and its concerts are presented free of charge. It is accompanied by pianist Laura Todd and is under the direction of Cookie Brohawn. All are welcome!
Wednesday Morning Artists and Friends “Gallery of Gifts” Show and Sale
Tuesdays – Sundays, through December 23
Seasonal splendor fills the galleries at DCA with the works of over 20 artists and artisans. Visitors can expect a dazzling display of artful items: wire-wrapped jewelry, cut paper art, metal sculptures, fiber art, kiln formed glass, paintings, wearable art, mosaics, pottery, fused glass jewelry, photographs and more, all amidst a delightful background of origami cranes, crafted by the artists, as symbols of joy and peace for the holidays and for luck and good health in the coming year. Hours are Tuesday – Thursday 10-5, Friday and Saturday 10-4, Sunday 1-5.
