Chester Gras comes to Rock Hall as the one and only Dixie Power Trio (the Trio of 4!) brings their soulful New Orleans style jazz back to The Mainstay in a dance party that is part of the Chester Gras Celebration sponsored by Peoples Bank on Saturday February 10, 2018.
Costumes and/or masks are encouraged but not required. Masks will be available at the door. The dance floor will be open, but there will also be plenty of seating for listeners.
This event is a production of the Chester River Revelers Mardi Gras Krewe and 100% of the net proceeds of the event will be contributed to the Kent County Food Pantry’s Backpack Program. This program sends food home on Fridays with 332 children in our community who do not have enough food resources for the weekend.
Zach Smith and the Dixie Power Trio are Mainstay favorites and have played FallFest many times but it’s been a while since they’ve been indoors on our stage. Their sound is a sly gumbo of zydeco, Cajun, New Orleans jazz, funk, street parade, and rock featuring Andy Kochenour on electric bass, drummer Byron McWilliams singing some leads, Zack Smith on cornet, accordion, rubboard and vocals and their special guest (also a Mainstay favorite) Tom Lagana on guitar.
