On Friday, February 9th, 2018 from 5 -7pm, the Rehoboth Art League (RAL) will host an opening reception for their latest exhibition: Small Works, Big(He)Art. “This exhibition was open to all of our member artists. Each artist was able to place up to five works, no larger than twelve inches by twelve inches (image size), and each priced less than five hundred dollars. The response was overwhelming, ” states Artistic Director Jay Pastore. “There are going to be nearly two-hundred works in this exhibition, which will contain a variety of media including: paintings in watercolor, oil, and mixed media; pastels; ceramics; assemblage, as well as both digital and darkroom photography. These works will be on display in the Tubbs Gallery.”

At the same time, RAL is also hosting an opening reception for an exhibition by members of the Coastal Camera Club entitled, “Connections.” Members of the club explored the theme of emotional and physical interconnections. The resulting works reveal connections between people, nature, and mankind to nature. Forty-six images were submitted for review by juror Duane Rieder, and ultimately eight images were selected for the show. Mr. Rieder is a Pittsburgh-based professional photographer and the Director of the Clemente Museum, located in Pittsburgh, PA. In addition to this exhibition, in the Corkran and Ventures Galleries, is RAL’s ongoing Members’ Sales Gallery, which showcases a wide variety of fine art and fine crafts.

The Rehoboth Art League is located at 12 Dodds Lane, in Helopen Acres. Gallery hours are Tuesday – Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Sunday noon – 4:00 p.m. The gallery is closed on Mondays. The opening reception is free and open to the public, and is generously sponsored by a(MUSE) Restaurant, located in Rehoboth Beach, and Dogfish Head.
