Performances of As You Like It will be held outside during the month of June 2017, at various venues on the Eastern Shore. Rehearsals will be held at the Queen Anne’s County Arts Council headquarters in
Centreville, commencing on Thursday, April 5th at 7:00 pm. Each actor should expect to be called for rehearsal three times per week until early May.

Auditions will be held March 26th and 27th, at the QACAC in Centreville. Callbacks, if necessary, will be held on Thursday, March 29th.

Auditioners are asked to prepare a brief Shakespeare monologue (from another show, preferably a comedy, and not one done with us before) andto be prepared for readings from the script. Audition sides will be sent to registered auditioners.

Those interested in auditioning are requested to register by sending an email with contact information to auditions@shoreshakespeare.com.

The production is directed by Christian Rogers, the Company’s creative director, assisted by Lindsey Hammer. Additional music and choreography are by Greg Minahan. Stage management is by Avra Sullivan. The show will be costumed by Barbi Bedell.

Rogers envisions a light-hearted, occasionally bawdy, pastoral romp examining Love, Loyalty, and the divide between court and country. As adapted, the script explicitly calls for doubling, even tripling, of many roles. Rogers anticipates casting 14-16 actors for all roles, including at least six men and four women, with other roles cross-cast.

Younger actors and singers are particularly sought after. Roles of varying size and for varying abilities are available. No roles have been pre-cast. All roles involve some singing and/or dancing. Some roles involve robust physical activity; some male roles may entail stage fighting.
