League of Women Voters Hosts 2018 Maryland General Assembly District 36 Forums

On Wednesday, October 3rd, forums for candidates for District 36 Maryland House and Senate will be held back to back at Cadby Theater, Chesapeake College, Wye Mills, located at the intersections of Rts. 50 and 213. The forum for candidates for Maryland State House of Delegates will begin at 7:00 p.m. Steven Arentz (R), Jay Jacobs (R), Jeff Ghrist (R), Michael Welker (D), and Crystal Woodward (D) plan to be in attendance. The forum for candidates for Maryland State Senate will begin at 8:00 p.m. Stephen Hershey (R) and Heather Sinclair (D) have confirmed they will attend. Candidates will have an opportunity to introduce themselves and answer questions from the audience. Each candidate will also present closing remarks All candidate forums are free and open to the public.

The League of Women Voters of Queen Anne’s County is a non-partisan organization, dedicated to promoting informed and active participation in government. The League does not support or oppose any candidate. Forums will be taped by QACTV. League of Women Voters rules, in compliance with its 501(C)(3) status and campaign finance law, do not allow a forum for only one candidate. If only one candidate for an office appears at the League forum for that office, the forum will be cancelled. No demonstrations are allowed in the event venue. No clothing or signs indicating support for or against a candidate will be permitted. Forums may not be recorded or filmed, unless with written agreement from the League of Women Voters.
