Gunston Players “Cinderella Waltz” at Church Hill Theatre

Performance Queen Anne's Theatre

The Gunston Players proudly present Cinderella Waltz, a fractured fairy tale for discerning adults and precocious children, brought to the stage of Church Hill Theatre Friday and Saturday, 16 and 17 February at 8 p.m., and Sunday, 18 February 2018 at 2 p.m.

Subversive, funny, and timely, this reimagining of the classic Cinderella tale tells the comic story of a young woman who desires to free herself from the absurd trappings of a fairy-tale life.

“Cinderella Waltz tells the story of Rosey, in an upside down fairy tale, and the challenges she faces,” the director, Liz Clarke, states. “She has a false sense of ‘happily ever after’. Yet by the end of the play, Rosey comes to realize that the choices she makes for herself will lead to true happiness.”

Ms. Clarke, a drama graduate of Washington College and an employee of Church Hill Theatre, is in her fifth year of directing The Gunston Players.

Actors are Sam Angelini, Simon Cawley, Juan Cordero, Steven Goss, Phin Howell, Ellie Merton, Jack Morrison, Katie Schiwy, Katie Staley, and Caroline Taylor. Emerson Borghardt, Stephen Brown, Nina DeAngelo, Tirza Enriquez, Gillian Felton, Cedar Foster, Logan Van Metre, and Alli Webb offer their assistance on the stage crew. Moe Weimer and Mark Wiening help with assistant directing, and Kendall Davis provides the choreography.
