Shardana Sailing Charters (The Sea Peoples) has opened a sailing charter business based in Rock Hall MD, according to Captain Andrew Seligman, the President of Shardana Sailing Charters, Inc.
Have you ever experienced the dream like quality of waking up on a sailboat anchored in a magical
Chesapeake Bay cove, awaiting the coffee (or tea) to be served? How about watching the sunset and
moonrise while you enjoy this quiet time with friends, family, fine foods and wine! You can experience the warm rising sun over the eastern shore of Maryland as you lounge aboard Shardana, a custom built 43-foot Catalina sailboat.
Seligman states “Our slogan, tag line if you will, is “Sail YOUR Story” and we want your sailing stories to begin and end on Shardana, our newly custom-built sailboat, moored at Rock Hall, MD”.
Shardana sails from Osprey Point Marina in Rock Hall, MD and has the range and the level of comfort for up to six passengers to sail the entire Chesapeake Bay in luxurious accommodations.
Davis Jones is a U.S.C.G licensed Captain and co-owner of Shardana Sailing Charters. Davis indicates,
“We think sailing the bay is a safe, enjoyable, interesting and exciting offering. Shardana can reach the upper, and lower bay via a series of overnight sails, “gunk-holing” along the way.”
“Sailing east, west, north or south”, our goals are simple: to provide the highest level of service available to our guests, sharing experiences and stories with them, as well as allowing them to experience and develop their own stories” Andrew stated.
Sailing partner and co-owner Davis states: “Andrew and I, with our families, have chartered many sailboats worldwide in the past”. We made our decision from the very onset to build a sailboat that would provide memorable experiences for seasoned sailors but also create a “magic carpet” for those people new to sailing that want to enjoy the serenity and excitement of being on a sailboat, plying the waters of theChesapeake Bay.
“Shardana is partnering with some local, Maryland based firms as well as professional chefs from the Philadelphia area to offer unique dining experiences to enhance our sailing experiences” said Seligman. Seligman says, “we will have an announcement regarding these partnerships soon”.
Shardana Sailing Charters has also reached out to the Kent County Office of Tourism and the Visit
Maryland tourism office to cross promote our new sailing business – Seligman said, “Partnering with theCommonwealth of Maryland is an important part of our marketing strategy. Davis and I feel we need tobe one with the local community and across the entire state”.
Shardana Sailing Charters offers a broad array of sailing options that cover the scope of sailing
experiences, including, venues for small groups, couples, families and corporate bonding and team
