Have you been to Chestertown this past week and wondered why there are so many young musicians walking through town with instruments? It’s because the National Music Festival is in town. During the first two weeks in June musicians and mentors from more than 15 countries and 30 U.S. states arrive in Chestertown to live and work together. They will be presenting over 35 concerts — ranging from solo recitals to large symphony orchestra performances with chorus — and 200 free open rehearsals. These concerts and free open rehearsals take place in a variety of venues including churches, theaters, art galleries, local businesses, and even an auto repair garage!
The festival is starting its second and final week so there is still plenty of time to visit Chestertown to see these young musicians. Visit their Website nationalmusic.us for more information about the festival.
Note:
Each morning the revised rehearsal schedule for the National Music Festival will be posted on the ChesaDel Crier’s Facebook page
