A plein air painting by artist Thomas Del Porte who will be teaching “Plein Air in Rehoboth: Oil Painting” at the Rehoboth Art League – Contributed PhotoHave you ever seen painters outdoors, painting on a lovely afternoon and said to yourself … “one day I am going to do that”? Well, now is the time to make that happen. In the class “Plein Air in Rehoboth: Oil Painting” at the Rehoboth Art League you can spend two days with Wilmington artist, Thomas Del Porte, the 2018 Delaware Division of the Arts Fellowship Established Professional Award winner, learning about achieving rich color with your plein air paintings and experiencing the beautiful historic grounds of the Art League and the surrounding beach communities. This class for beginners as well as more seasoned painters will take place on Saturday and Sunday, June 30 and July 1 from 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Students will learn how to select compositions that will have more variety and a visually interesting look as well as how to see and mix rich color with a palette of eight colors. Thomas will provide individual guidance and instruction to each artist. The cost of the two-day class is $115 for members and $150 for non-members.
