SEVERN, MD – The Arc Central Chesapeake Region (The Arc), a nonprofit committed to providing people with intellectual and development disabilities the opportunity to gain independence, today announced the appointment of Deena Kilmon as Regional Director of Engagement & Partnerships.

“As The Arc continues to strategically enhance its service and program offerings to meet the goals of advocating for and creating opportunities for people with development disabilities on the Eastern Shore, it was instrumental for us to bring on talent who not only has the professional prowess to cultivate partnerships, but just as important, someone who is deeply rooted and proactively involved in the community,” said Jonathon Rondeau, CEO. “Deena has established herself as a respected professional and resident in this community, and we are thrilled to welcome her as the newest executive on our team.”

Deena Kilmon will serve as The Arc’s Regional Director of Engagement & Partnerships and will be based in their Eastern Shore office. In this new role, Kilmon will build and implement an engagement and partnership strategy for Maryland’s Eastern Shore, cultivate new philanthropic relationships to support sustainable growth in services, and develop new partnerships that expand opportunities for people with developmental disabilities.

“I’m honored to part of The Arc’s team and represent the organization as an ambassador engaging public, private, philanthropic and corporate partners,” said Kilmon. “My goal is to deepen our stakeholders’ investment in supporting the services we provide, and expand our reach and commitment to people with developmental disabilities who live and work in our community.”

Kilmon has more than a decade of experience working with businesses and organizations in the Eastern shore. She joins The Arc as the previous Sales and Marketing Director for Chesapeake Harvest, where she built and maintained relationships through the Chesapeake Bay Watershed; increased economic opportunity in the agricultural sector, and built brand recognition for the regional farming community. Previous to Chesapeake Harvest, Kilmon held positions in direct sales for Comcast Spotlight and SYSCO Eastern Maryland.

Kilmon is deeply connected to the Eastern Shore as a professional, volunteer and resident. She currently sits on the board of directors for the Talbot County, MD Chamber of Commerce and is active on the strategic planning committee. She has held director positions at Phillips Wharf Environmental Center, Easton Business Alliance and the St. Michaels Museum among other community organizations. She received her Bachelors of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
