On Tuesday, August 7, 2018 the Caroline County Commissioners signed a proclamation
to declare the week of August 12th-18th Choose Civility Week in Caroline.
The proclamation was read and presented to members of the Choose Civility team,
which includes representatives from Caroline County Public Schools and the Caroline
County Public Library. The commissioners recognized the importance of fostering civility within the community, the government, the schools and on online platforms.

The schools and the library are collaborating to present a series of evening
presentations on topics concerning raising children in a digital age. Ryan O’Grady of
Enoch Pratt Free Library Parents will present information of interest to parents of
school-aged children, including cyberbullying, talking to strangers online and more. It is the goal of this program to equip parents with the best tools to protect their children’s online safety, while also making them better digital citizens.
These programs will be offered at various locations around the county. Sessions are
scheduled for September 13, 2018 at Caroline County Public Library’s Federalsburg Branch and September 20, 2018 at Denton Elementary School (both begin 6:30pm), with more dates to be
announced.
