~ Get Well Gabby Foundation
The Get Well Gabby Foundation was formed in February of 2012 in memory of Gabriella Vogel who passed away from Diffuse Intra Pontine Glioma (DIPG) on September 11, 2011. Her parents, John and Carolynn Vogel wanted to continue to help other children with cancer to “get well” in their daughter’s memory. The foundation is focused on providing funding non-medical expenses to local children and their families currently fighting a childhood cancer diagnosis, supporting children’s hospitals nationwide through our new book program, and providing Believe Bags to children upon a childhood cancer diagnosis with comfort items. The foundation has also supported our local children’s hospital with the new construction of a dedicated Oncology Playroom and provided funding for the first electronic medical record for childhood cancer that is being used for research and the care of children across the county. Gabby’s family resides in the Bethany Beach area. To learn more go to www.getwellgabby.org.
This is a holiday tradition that keeps growing each year. Let it become yours. Throw your turkey in the oven, lace up your shoes, and show your thankfulness by helping children fight the battle of their lives.
