By auctioning off an untitled painting by well known artist Danny Doughty, Main Street Gallery in Cambridge raised $1268 for Midshore Meals til Monday, an area backpack organization that sends food home on weekends with 350 Dorchester County school children. Raising money for charity is an annual tradition at Main Street Gallery, and part of their yearly exhibit called “Artful Giving”.

“Artful Giving” has a dual meaning for us” says MSG director Laura Hofherr. “Besides exhibiting small artworks in our gallery that are great for gift giving, we, as an artist cooperative are giving back to the community too. This year we raised money for Midshore Meals Til Monday because they do such wonderful work in addressing child hunger.”
Support for Midshore Meals Til Monday is always welcome in the form of donations of food, money or volunteer time. They can be reached at: 443-225-6789 and their website is: www.midshoremealstilmonday.org. You can also find them on Facebook at midshoremealstilmonday.
