Church Hill, Maryland – Church Hill Theatre is set to hold auditions for its annual summer musical. This year, it’s the 1970 rock opera with music by Andrew Lloyd Weber and lyrics from Tim Rice – Jesus Christ Superstar. Loosely based on the Gospels, the musical focuses on the personal conflicts between Jesus, his disciples, the people of Israel, and the leadership of Rome.
Set to direct this production is Shelagh Grasso, who most recently helmed CHT’s production of The Sisters Rosensweig and brought Sweeney Todd to life at the Garfield Center last year. Her production team includes Julie Lawrence as music director, Kendall Davis doing choreography, stage manager Michelle Christopher, and producer Sally Borghardt.
Auditions will be held at Church Hill Theatre:
March 10 at 2 pm
March 12 & 14 at 6 pm
