Tred Avon Players presented a David Foster Educational Scholarship to Katelynn Cherry, a senior at Easton High School, before an audience at the May 3rd production of TAP’s comedy, Laughing Stock. The annual award is given to a high school student who has participated in at least two TAP shows and is planning to continue a post high school education.
Katelynn, an accomplished singer, appeared in the TAP musicals Curtains and A Man of No Importance. She will be attending Peabody Conservatory at John Hopkins University in the fall where she will study Opera and Voice Performance. She has been very involved with singing and theater since she was 8 years old. She performed in her first Opera at Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia last summer. She has also won many awards for her singing performances. Katelynn’s parents are David and Karla Wieland-Cherry.
