Delmarva Scenes’ Photo of the Week – Waterman at Play: Boat Docking at Waterman’s Day in Rock Hall

Kent, MD Photo of the Week

Photo by SG Atkinson: Waterman at Play - Boat Docking
It is hard work being a Waterman on the Chesapeake Bay. They are out early in the morning working for their catch that is harder to find every year.

But everyone once in awhile they get to play which they did in Rock Hall on June 30th for the Annual Kent County Waterman’s Association Waterman’s Day.

One of the favorite games is Dock Docking. This is when a boat begins at a set location, runs out into the harbor and then backs the boat through a small area marked by poles to the dock. The one with the quickest time wins.

This photo is of the third place winner who did it in 23 seconds.
