OCEAN CITY, MD – Few entertainment experiences lend themselves to social distancing better than drive-in movies, which is why Ocean City is thrilled to announce the addition of the new event beginning in mid-June. The weekly drive-in movies will be featured on Monday nights at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center parking lot, adding a unique experience to this summer’s free weekly event line-up.
“Our free, family fun events offer special experiences for residents and visitors in Ocean City,” commented Ocean City Special Events Director Frank Miller. “With the current concerns of coronavirus, and the abundance of caution we are taking throughout the Town of Ocean City, this event seemed like a perfect fit for family fun as it provides entertainment while being mindful of physical distancing.”
Along with the featured Monday night movie, the town has teamed up with the Ocean City Art League to showcase independent films one Tuesday each month. In addition, Town of Ocean City officials have been working closely with the Worcester County Health Department to ensure all health and safety guidelines are followed during all events. “Safety is our top priority,” Miller finished. “We want families to come here, relax and know that we have taken every precaution to protect them so they will feel safe enough to return.”
