When 2020 began no one could have guessed the state of the world, county, state and the Delmarva Peninsula would be where we are today. Yearly goals pretty much went out the window in early March which the Covid-19 shutdown.
As we come up to the the 1st of July and with the gradual re-opening of life and activities in the area, it’s time to make new goal for the remainder of the year. New goals that looking at the current normal, but also with a view that there’s really no way to really try to guess what’s the rest of the year will be like. We could continue to have life return to pre-March status, or we could see a second wave of Covid-19.
As we have seen during these past 100 days art and entertainment on the Delmarva have shifted. Big events have been postponed to later dates or cancelled for 2020 with hopes that they can return in 2021. Art societies and revenues, such as museums and theaters, have moved to doing programs virtually with online performances, shows, and classes.
I have been thinking a lot lately on how the ChesaDel Crier can better assist the Art and Entertainment community.
One thought I have had is to do a video interview series and will be working towards producing this. The thought would be to schedule it for once a month with the 1st episode being in late July or early. There is still much to work out. Format, live or recorded, as well as finding the first guest. Please keep a lookout for more information.
With the idea that during the rest of the summer, many will be taking short one day car trips, I am planning on doing a few myself. Taking some photos and sharing those adventures. Give example of places to go on the peninsula that aren’t always on the radar.
And of course I will continue to share information here on what’s happening on the Peninsula as I have done for many years now.
