Parks on Draft for Summer of 2020 in Newark -

The City of Newark and Grain on Main are excited to announce the next Parks on Draft for Summer 2020, a three-day, family-friendly beer garden event to take place in Newark’s Handloff Park from August 7 – 9, 2020. Proceeds from the event, which will feature food, games, beer, live music, and special guests, will benefit Newark Parks and Recreation’s Special Parks Fund that support park projects and community events.

PARKS ON DRAFT will take place in Handloff Park, located at 1000 Barksdale Road at the intersection of Casho Mill Road and Barksdale Road, on Friday, August 7 from 4 to 9PM; Saturday, August 8 from 4 to 9PM; and Sunday, August 9 from 1 to 5PM. The event is open to all ages and pet-friendly, but attendees must be over the age of 21 and have ID on-hand to purchase alcohol. Free parking will be available on all days at Handloff Park and Leroy Hill Park. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets for use in the park.

Please remember to keep social distancing of at least 6 feet between members outside of your household. Also please wear your mask when social distancing is not possible. Hand sanitizer stations will be provided but feel free to bring your own.

Grain on Main, which is co-hosting PARKS ON DRAFT, will be providing beverages and food during the event. In addition to draft beers, hard seltzer, soda and water, menu items will include a cold caprese sandwich, pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw, smoked turkey tacos, and for the kid’s hot dogs and PB & J Uncrustables.
