REHOBOTH BEACH, DE – The Rehoboth Art League’s signature summer event, the Annual Outdoor Fine Art and Fine Craft Show, returns to Henlopen Acres for the first two weekends in August. Now in its 49th year, the event provides the opportunity for more than 100 artists and artisans from around the country to display and sell their fine art and fine crafts amidst the Rehoboth Art League’s 3.5+ acre wooded campus, just blocks from the busy downtown Rehoboth Avenue in coastal Delaware. The event will be held August 6-7 and August 13-14 from 10 am-5 pm on Saturdays and 10 am-4 pm on Sundays.
The Outdoor Show, which is underwritten by Jack Lingo, REALTOR, is a juried event yielding exceptional work, and many of the artists actively enjoy demonstrating their creativity during each day of the show. As always, many local and regional artists will be on campus with their artwork and display in a variety of mediums, including oil and acrylic painting, pastel painting, fine jewelry, wood, metal, photography, ceramics, mixed media, and more.
“We are pleased to be the Event Underwriter for the Rehoboth Art League’s Annual Outdoor Fine Art and Fine Craft Show,” says Bryce Lingo of Jack Lingo, REALTOR®. “It’s a unique opportunity to see neighbors and visitors to the Coastal Delaware region join through art and culture. The Lingo family and the many people who work with us all have a strong passion for the arts and for giving back to the community. This aligns with our overall goal and mission to ‘Give Where You Live.’”
The show is an unforgettable summer event full of activities, including great food, live music, artist demonstrations, gallery exhibits, beautiful gardens, and plenty of raffle and auction opportunities. The support of our community allows this Rehoboth Beach tradition to continue, as the efforts of more than 100 volunteers is essential to pull off this two-weekend event.
Visitors are also welcome to enjoy the current shows the art league has on display, including its 84th Annual Members’ Fine Art Exhibition, as well as solo shows Hidden Waters from Donna M. Finley in the Ventures Gallery and Still from Melissa Husted-Sherman in the Homestead. As always, the Homestead Docents will be holding an online auction of artwork donated by the Outdoor Show artists as a fundraiser for preservation projects in RAL’s historic buildings. RAL provides complimentary transportation to the event with Jolly Trolley shuttles, which stop at Rehoboth Beach Elementary School.
Part of the Outdoor Show tradition, patrons at this year’s Outdoor Fine Art and Fine Craft Show will have an opportunity to win a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork that is generously donated by a participating event artists. This year’s piece, A Distance I Have Wandered, was donated by Kate Meyer, an oil painter based in coastal Virginia. The winning ticket will be pulled at 4pm on August 14, 2022.
There is a weekend entry fee of $5 for adults. There is no charge for children under the age of 12. Tickets can be purchased by cash or credit card at the gate.
