Ocean City, MD
The Town of Ocean City is thrilled to commemorate the 60th anniversary of its iconic Boardwalk trams, marking six decades of cherished memories and unforgettable experiences.
Since its inception in June 1964, the Boardwalk trams have been an integral part of the Ocean City experience, offering visitors and locals alike a convenient and delightful mode of transportation along the Ocean City Boardwalk. As they traverse the famed wooden planks of the 2 ½ mile long Boardwalk, these trams provide a unique perspective of the bustling promenade, allowing passengers to soak in the sights, sounds, smells, and vibrant energy of this beloved coastal destination.
“Our Boardwalk trams have been a cherished symbol of Ocean City for six decades, embodying the spirit of fun, relaxation, and tradition,” commented Mayor Rick Meehan. “As we celebrate this momentous anniversary, we invite our residents and visitors to join us in celebrating the rich history and enduring charm of our beloved trams.”
Whether it’s a leisurely ride along the Boardwalk or a fun-filled adventure with family and friends, the Boardwalk trams hold a special place in the hearts of all who have experienced the magic of Ocean City. As we celebrate 60 years of memories, we look forward to creating many more unforgettable moments on the Boardwalk trams for generations to come.
