Danielle Wilson, MSN, RN, NE-BC, has been appointed Chief Nursing Officer and Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services for University of Maryland Shore Regional Health (UM SRH), effective August 1, 2024. Wilson most recently served in this position on an interim basis, while continuing her responsibilities as Director of Patient Care Services, the position she had held since 2022. UM SRH is a member organization of the University of Maryland Medical System.
“Danielle has established herself as a proven leader during her time at Shore Regional Health and has earned the respect of her peers, nursing unit team members and leadership,” said Ken Kozel, UM SRH President and CEO, in his announcement regarding Wilson’s appointment to the post.
Wilson began her career in 2005 at University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, where she served as a staff nurse in the orthopedics, neurology and vascular units. She was promoted to Nurse Manager of the Emergency Department Observation Unit, and then served as Director of Nursing Operations. She previously held several nursing leadership roles at Maryland hospitals, including Director of Nursing Innovation and Evidence-Based Practice at University of Maryland Capital Region Health in Cheverly. In total, she has nearly 20 years of experience in acute and chronic care management, nursing leadership and hospital administration.
Wilson earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Maryland School of Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing Administration and Leadership from Notre Dame of Maryland University, both in Baltimore, Maryland. She is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Leaders (AONL) and previously held an at-large board member seat with the Maryland Organization of Nurse Leaders (MONL).
