The Chestertown Rotary Club is hosting its seventh annual “Soup & Sip” event at the Chester River Yacht and County Club, 7738 Quaker Neck Road, in Chestertown, October 26, 2024 from Noon to 3:00 pm.
This popular fundraising event will benefit the “One School, One Book Program for Galena Elementary School. It features local eateries offering samplings of their signature crab soup recipes for cream of crab or vegetable crab soups in addition to a fine variety of wines. Guests will have an opportunity to enjoy the many offerings and vote for their favorite soups.
Chestertown Rotary Project Chair Jamie Williams said: “This event provides an opportunity to get acquainted with some of the local restaurants and meet local business leaders while helping to provide local students with reading materials to aid with their education and feed their interest in reading. The Chestertown Rotary Club is a huge supporter of education and educational causes, and we are happy once again to present this popular event to raise funds for this worthwhile cause.”
Club President Larry Vetter noted, “The event is $25 and includes a wine glass, 10 tastings, and a raffle ticket for a wine and soup prize basket. Tickets are purchased at the door, with no advanced sales.
The Chestertown Rotary is proud to support “One School, One Book” as it illustrates the power of reading together to build connections with families and community.
