The community is invited to celebrate our planet on Saturday, April 26th at the 15th Annual Chestertown Earth Day Festival, 9am to 1pm. This family friendly event, located on the Park Row side of Fountain Park in Downtown Chestertown features a Community Trash Walk, electric vehicle car display, free recycling of batteries and fluorescent bulbs, free tree seedlings, and educational and information booths promoting stewardship- from solar energy to making your backyard more eco-friendly.
Free paper shredding, courtesy of Chesapeake Investment Advisors, will be available from 9 am to noon.
The Chestertown Ukulele Club and Justin Singleton will entertain with live music, and KidSPOT will be offering free children’s crafts.
Friends and family are encouraged to participate in the Community Trash/Recycle Walk -keep our streets, sidewalks and trails beautiful and learn about what you may recycle instead of adding to the landfill. Gloves and bags provided, Free seeds, and limited seedlings are available to all who take part in the trash/recycle walk. In addition, the Chestertown Garden Club will be mulching some trees in Fountain Park and will have extra shovels on hand for those who wish to assist.

Contemplating a hybrid or all electric vehicle? There will be a variety of locally owned models on display, including Chevy Bolt, Nissan Leaf, Kia EV 6, Ford E-150 Lightning & Fiskar Ocean, plus some electric bicycles.
Downtown Chestertown will also be full of artists – as it is the Spring Art Walk, hosted by Chestertown Arts & Entertainment District, as well as the annual RiverArts Paint the Town.
The Chestertown Earth Day Festival is hosted by the Chestertown Environmental Committee and the Town of Chestertown.
