Little Shop of Horrors
Director Marcia Gilliam
Producer Leigh Marquess
By Howard Ashman and Alan Menken
Seymour Krelborn is a meek, dejected assistant in a seedy flower shop on Skid Row, who stumbles across a new breed of plant that he names “Audrey Two” after his co-worker crush. This R&B singing, carnivorous plant promises fame and fortune to the down-and-out Seymour as long as he keeps feeding it…blood! As Audrey Two grows bigger and meaner, Seymour discovers the plants extraterrestrial origins and its intent of global domination…but has he discovered this too late?

Lacking in education and self-esteem, trashy dressing, yet sweet.

Grouchy, opportunistic, lower East End owner of a failing flower shop.

Orin Scrivello

Audrey Two, the plant
Male or female, any age
Low R&B vocals, ranging from slyly seductive to manipulative and blood-thirsty. A controlling, commanding voice. May be played on-stage.

Ensemble
2 to 4 additional strong singers/actors (all parts) for large vocal numbers, and may play multiple minor roles.

All parts are open, no parts are pre-cast. Auditions will require one prepared song (not from this show) so bring a copy of the music for the accompanist. No a capella or recorded tracks please. Cold readings from the script. Copies of sides will be available at auditions.
