On Sunday, April 29, 2018 Haven Ministries held its Annual Tea Party at the Prospect Bay Country Club in Grasonville, one of Haven Ministries’ business partners. The event benefited Haven Ministries programs: the homeless shelter, food pantry, thrift store, street outreach program, and resource center.

Guests were seated at beautifully-decorated tables, each hosted by a community volunteer. The specially chosen menu for the tea included assorted scones, tea sandwiches, sweet treats, and a variety of teas. There was also a Fancy Hat Contest and Silent Auction, which offered a variety of themed baskets put together by volunteers, as well as other items donated by area businesses. In addition to learning about Haven Ministries work in the community, guests were treated to an inspirational performance by Donna Dieter.

Table hostess Mary Jourdak of Chester, who has been a table hostess every year, comments, “I love this event. The tables are beautiful and there is always a positive energy in the room. The guests are always smiling when they leave.”

Krista Pettit, Executive Director of Haven Ministries, adds, “Working with Prospect Bay Country Club is always a great experience. They always provide delectable meals and have been a true partner in donating their venue for a number of our events, including our annual golf tournament. They have truly showed what being a member of our community is all about.”
