Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum to host Volunteer Friendraiser June 26, 2018

Museum Talbot

Are you a friendly, outgoing lover of the Chesapeake? Do you enjoy working with people? If so, the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum needs you!

In an effort to grow public programs, CBMM is looking for new volunteers interested in learning how to lead tours exploring the Bay’s history, culture, and environment. No experience is necessary, but an enthusiasm for the Chesapeake, a willingness to learn, and the gift of gab are essential.

Those interested are invited to join CBMM volunteers and staff at a Volunteer Friendraiser at 3 pm Tuesday, June 26, in CBMM’s Van Lennep Auditorium. This event is free, but registration is encouraged to bit.ly/CBMMFriendraiser.

The Volunteer Friendraiser includes complimentary refreshments and the opportunity for prospective volunteers to learn more about volunteering opportunities, with emphasis on interpretive programs, public and school group tours, and training. Current volunteers and staff will be on hand to answer questions during the event.

Volunteers play an essential role in the mission of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, which draws more than 80,000 annual guests to its 18-acre campus and educational programming. In addition to fellowship, training, and enrichment trips, volunteers also enjoy special events and socials throughout the year, an annual recognition reception, library privileges, discounts in the Museum Store, and more. For details, visit cbmm.org.
