Continuum Dance Presents Fall Concert, Open Up

Caroline Entertainment Performance Talbot

Logo: Continuum DanceContinuum Dance will perform its fall concert Open Up at several Eastern Shore venues this September. Open Up will take the stage of Colonel Richardson High School in Federalsburg on Saturday, September 15 and at the Prager Family Auditorium in Easton on Saturday, September 22, 2018 with each day featuring two shows at 3pm and 6pm.

The performance will feature original choreography performed by Continuum’s company and apprentice dancers, highlighting original music and arrangements composed by local artists. The concert includes a return appearance from musicians with the Front Porch Orchestra, who will accompany the dancers on stage with live music. This concert serves as a foreshadow to a spring 2019 concert consisting of all original compositions by local artists.

In a region where live artistic dance performances seldom occur, this show continues Continuum Dance’s core mission of providing residents of Delmarva the opportunity to experience professional-quality, artistic dance. Each performance is an invitation for audience members to open their hearts and minds to the art of dance with the hope of inspiring self-expression through the performing arts

A reception will follow each performance, providing an opportunity to meet with Continuum dancers and board members. Tickets can be purchased in advance at bit.ly/OpenUpSept15 or bit.ly/OpenUpSept22, or at the door for $20 adults or $15 students and seniors.

Open Up is funded in part by a grant from the Talbot County Arts Council, with revenues provided by the Maryland State Arts Council, as well as the generous support of Alan Brock with the South Street Art Gallery.

Continuum Dance is committed to providing greater accessibility and knowledge of artistic dance in the Delmarva community. As an emerging professional performance company, Continuum Dance showcases accomplished professional artists of the region, provides training and experience to young dancers through an apprenticeship program, and celebrates the art of dance through master classes, open houses, and other public events.
