FRIDAY FULL MOON HIKE | January 18
Enjoy a night of hiking by the light of the full moon on Friday, January 18 from 6 – 7 p.m. at the Newark Reservoir for ages 5 and over! Registration fee is $2. Children 16 and under are free. Join hike leaders from the Wilmington Trail Club at the Newark Reservoir as they lead a family-friendly hike on the paved path with a beautiful view of the night sky. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. Pre-register by no later than 4 p.m. on the previous business day.

ADULT DANCE COUNTRY COUPLES | January 18
Join us Friday, January 18 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the George Wilson Center. You will learn the Two Step as well as some of the popular set pattern dances including the El Paso, Side Kick, Lonely Drum, Love Cha Cha and Shadow just to name a few. Registration fee is $61. The Newark resident discount fee is $45. These dances for beginner or advanced couples are great fun and done at many venues throughout the United States. Fees are per person.

ADULT AND TEEN IMPROV & COMEDY SKETCH THEATRE | January 24
This is the perfect course for Adults & Teens that want to learn acting skills and techniques on how to give a comedic stage performance beginning Thursday, January 24 from 5 – 6:30 p.m. at the George Wilson Center for ages 14 and over. Registration fee is $139. The Newark resident discount fee is $119. Play theatre games, learn how to improvise scenes and perform comedy sketches. From Whose Line Is It Anyway to Monty Python to SNL to Classic Comedy Sketches – build the confidence, stage presence timing, and technique as we learn the craft of acting. Whether you are new or experienced, this acting class will benefit you. We will work on scenes, improvisation, comedy sketches, learn auditioning techniques, and explore theatre exercises and games to build the skills needed for stage performance. This course concludes with an interactive stage performance featuring fun Improv and Comedy Sketches for family and friends on Thursday, March 21st at 5:30 p.m.

CURTAINS UP THEATRE | January 25
Curtain’s Up, our stage performance drama program, is proud to take on Shakespeare this session with a comic adaptation students will love beginning Friday, January 25 from 4:30 – 6:15 p.m. at the George Wilson Center for ages 8 – 15. Registration fee is $139. The Newark resident discount fee is $119. We follow the script of this classic comedy with fairy’s verses mortals and mix up of characters so typical in Shakespeare’s plays. Students will learn stage movement, stage direction, vocalization, auditioning techniques, stage terminology, improvisation, character development, stage make-up, costuming, blocking, cold readings, awareness, and many other theatre skills as well as an introduction to Shakespeare. Our acting students will develop a confident stage presence and have fun as they work towards a final scripted stage performance on Friday, March 15th at 5:45 p.m. for family and friends. Class attendance is essential as this is an ensemble production.

ABRAKADOODLE | TOWER, TURRET, & TEXTURE | January 26
Join Abrakadoodle America’s leading art education program for a magical castle adventure with castle building art on Saturday, January 26 from 1 – 2 p.m. at the George Wilson Center for ages 6 – 12. Registration fee is $25. The Newark resident discount fee is $20. Participants will learn about sculpture, using canvas, Model Magic © and other mixed media, learn architectural terms for a castle and use texture for surface interest. All materials will be provided.
