Pell Gardens in Chesapeake City is a nice place to visit and enjoy the view of the C&D Canal. The Gardens was named for the The Rev. Walden Pell, II. Rev Pell was the headmaster of the St. Andrews School in Middletown, Delaware, from 1929 to 1957 and served as the priest in charge of St. Augustine Parish in Chesapeake City. He was a civic leader involved in many projects in Cecil County.
