Join a panel of experts for dinner and a discussion of the documentary film, Resilience: The
Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope. Researchers have discovered that the effects of childhood abuse, neglect, and household challenges, termed Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), have profound effects on later-life health and well-being. ACEs have proven to be precursors to many common and serious health conditions such as obesity, heart disease, depression and substance abuse.

The Caroline County Public Library, in partnership with Mid Shore Behavioral Health and
The Family Tree, offers participants an opportunity to explore effective ways to address
ACEs with experts Jonathan G. Williams of the Mid Shore Community Mediation Center
and Alisha Saulsbury of The Family Tree in Baltimore.

Don’t miss this important film and discussion on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 6pm at the
Caroline County Public Library’s Central Library in Denton. Please register at carolib.libcal.com or by calling 410-479-1343.
