Participants will learn the basics of wooden nameboard carving from carver and master model maker Ed Thieler during a workshop at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels.

ST MICHAELS, MD – On Saturday, August 24, 2019 from 9am—4pm, experienced woodworkers and beginners alike are invited to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum’s Workshop Annex to learn the basics of nameboard carving. Carver and master model maker Ed Thieler will host the workshop, giving participants an introduction to the skills necessary to hand-carve their very own nameboard. Registration is required.
