On Monday, March 2, “Great Dames” will present the film “Harriet.” at Easton Library. In addition to the film, the director of the Harriet Tubman Museum, Donald Pinder, will be available afterward to speak about Harriet Tubman and the museum.
Pinder has been with the museum for the past nine years and lives in the district closest to where Harriet Tubman lived. He’s a lifetime resident of Dorchester County and is expert in self-guided tours about Harriet Tubman which he explains to museum visitors so they can visit the ten most important sites while they are in the area.
“Harriet” was recently released and is a feature film that celebrates one of America’s greatest heroes, Harriet Tubman, whose courage and ingenuity helped free hundreds of slaves. Based on the thrilling and inspirational life of an iconic American freedom fighter, “Harriet” tells the extraordinary tale of Harriet Tubman’s escape from slavery and transformation into one of America’s greatest heroes. Her courage, ingenuity, and tenacity freed hundreds of slaves and changed the course of history.
