RIDGELY, MD – Dust off your running shoes and start training to hustle for the herd! Runners, walkers, families and nature enthusiasts are invited to Adkins Arboretum’s 15th annual Arbor Day Run on Saturday, April 11, 2020. Proceeds benefit the Arboretum’s goat herd, used for targeted grazing of invasive species.

Featuring 5K and 10K races and a family-friendly One-Mile Fun Run/Walk, the event is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a spring morning in nature. Participants will pass the goat herd on the cross-country course plotted along a network of scenic forest and meadow paths.

Check-in and day-of registration begin at 8 a.m., with races starting at 9 a.m. Post-race festivities include music, a “green” medal ceremony and a native tree raffle. All 5K and 10K participants will receive Arbor Day Run T-shirts featuring the Arboretum goats. New this year is timing and race management by TriCycle & Run.

Race fees are $30 for the 5K run and $40 for the 10K run. The One-Mile Fun Run/Walk is free, though advance registration is appreciated. Register online at adkinsarboretum.org or runsignup.com/Race/MD/Ridgely/HustlefortheHerd, or call the Arboretum at 410-634-2847, ext. 0.
