Online Art Classes at the Rehoboth Art League

Classes Sussex

REHOBOTH, DE – Though the Rehoboth Art League campus is closed, we are continuing to offer remote learning experiences. Register online for one of these upcoming classes, which will be held on the Zoom Video Platform.

On Tuesday mornings, April 21 through May 19, 2020 from 10 a.m. to Noon. The Rehoboth Art League will offer an “Art Critique” class. The purpose of this virtual class is to provide a forum for artistic growth for the participants. Whether you are an experienced selling artist, or work quietly by yourself, you are welcome to join! We will discuss participants’ art work, finalized or in progress: you will hear how your work is perceived and how it may be enhanced in relation to your goals with the specific piece. You will be sharing your reactions to other participants’ work. This Art Critique is for fine art, whether it is representational or abstract. This class will be facilitated by artist Nina Mickelsen, known for her screen print work as well as abstract mixed media. Participating will also be Connie Costigan, Professor of Fine Arts Emeritus at George Washington University, abstract expressionist Eileen Olson and Steve Rogers, acclaimed marine artist. The cost of the 5 sessions is $20 for members and non-members.

On Thursday afternoons, April 23 through May 14 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., local artist Jamie Moore will introduce participants to “Art History: The Twentieth Century.” Come investigate the history of twentieth century art through dynamic and interactive lectures, visuals, and discussions. This time period witnessed the birth and outgrowth of abstraction and other movements amidst radical global changes. The cost of this 4-week class is $100 for members and $135 for non-members.

Registration is required for all classes. To register go to www.rehobothartleague.org or email Art League’s Education Programs Director at paula@rehobothartleague.org.
