In an effort to be proactive, the Board of Directors for the Queen Anne’s Chorale back in early March had rescheduled the April 18th concert to June 27th. With the status of gatherings still in doubt, the Board took the further step recently to cancel the concert and reschedule the program for April 17th, 2021. The program will be identical and be performed on the main stage at the Todd Performing Arts Center on the campus of Chesapeake College in Wye Mills. The evening will come alive with popular musical selections From Stage and Screen. Queen Anne’s Chorale will be performing songs from Lion King, La La Land, Les Miserables, Aladdin, along with many other songs from shows you know by heart. You will be tapping your feet and humming along as you enjoy your musical evening.

Fortunately, the Chorale will still feature soloist Thomas Beard. Considered a Lyric-Dramatic-Baritone, Thomas studied under the direction of Placido Domingo while part of the National Opera in Washington, D.C. He has also performed in operas in Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Jacksonville as well as touring oversees in Italy, Germany, Spain, Australia and New Zealand.

According to his website, thomasbeardbaritone.com, Mr. Beard has performed for numerous dignitaries, including the funeral of the mother of Civil rights movement, Rosa Parks, U.S. Senators, Governors and Ambassadors in many concerts at Embassies and concert halls across the country. He was also invited to perform as special guest soloist by former First Lady Laura Bush at an invitation only event at the White House.

A Select Ensemble and soloists will provide extra music that will make you smile. The audience will also be asked to sing along on several pieces. A punch and cookie reception will follow the performances.

The Board would also like to thank our numerous supporters. Those that have purchased advertising in the program will be printed in the Fall Program for the December 5th concert. Also, they would like to thank our Corporate Sponsors who continue to support the Chorale’s mission. Corporate sponsors are: Service Today, Acts Retirement-Life/Heron Point, Koons Toyota Easton, Chesapeake Hearing Centers, Soistman Family Dentistry, Liberty Technical Services and Shore Bancshares.

Also, mark your calendars for our 2020/2021 season. The Holiday Concert will be December 5th and will transport you back in time for a nostalgic celebration. Tickets are $20 for adults with children through High School admitted free. For more information, go to www.qachorale.org. You can also call 443-262-8146.
