The Easton town council has unanimously passed the Washington Street Promenade, a 24/7 pedestrian-focused closure of Washington Street from Dover Street to Federal Street for events, music, outdoor dining, shopping, and socialization, from July 4 through the end of October.
For the next several months, Washington Street will be home to everything from musicians, outdoor art, open-air markets, fitness classes, and theater, all while allowing the town’s restaurants and retailers to serve and sell outdoors 7 days per week.
This will be the town’s first true test of a pedestrian-focused area. Discover Easton and the town is excited to build this into something that local residents and visitors to the town can be proud to visit.
