Pieceful Designs Mosaics Showcased at Visions Artisan Marketplace

Local Mosaic Artist Lisa Scarbath will be participating in the Visions Artisan Marketplace at the Center for the Arts in Ocean City by the Art League of Ocean City on October 3rd, 2020.

Lisa, who creates her art under the name Pieceful Designs Mosaics, entered her work for the jurying process of the Visions art show to be held in October. The Visions Artisan Marketplace participants were chosen by the juror for the Visions show, which focuses on focuses on the RISE, GROWTH and PROGRESS of women during the last 100 years, their challenges, self-discovery, victories and defeats.

Lisa states she is often inspired by the beauty surrounding their home on the Chesapeake Bay in Dorchester County. After years working as an attorney and law professor, Lisa now is able to focus more time on her mosaic art. Her finished pieces can be found locally for sale at the Dorchester Center for the Arts located at 321 High Street in Cambridge, and the gift shop at the Center for the Arts in Ocean City at 502 94th Street.

Mosaics are her creative outlet, taking on a variety of forms from furniture to wall décor and portraiture. She uses materials such as glass tiles, crockery, stained glass and found objects to express her vision. Lisa states “By using my mosaic skills with various materials, experiencing different forms and color, I create designs on familiar shapes with a theme and often a message. The amazing process of creating mosaics allows the project itself to take me on a journey to create a visually pleasing result. ”

Lisa also creates embellished and steampunk items, repurposing jewelry and other familiar objects into a work of art.
