Atlantic General Hospital and Worcester Health Sponsor Go Red for Women 2021 Walk Events

Worcester

Snow Hill, MD – As part of this year’s Go Red for Women campaign, girls and women of all ages are encouraged to get in their steps and move their way as a way to increase daily physical activity. During the month of February, the Worcester County Health Department and Atlantic General Hospital will be sponsoring the following walk events in the county to keep residents moving in observance of American Heart Month and Go Red for Women. We encourage residents to sign-up for any of the following self-directed walk events.

  • Worcester County Go Red for Women Walk for Wellness Challenge: During the month of February, participants are encouraged to visit a local park or trail and take a walk or participate in whatever form of activity they enjoy. Participants are asked to snap a selfie and submit the picture to elizabeth.justice@maryland.gov to be entered into a drawing to win a free prize. The more pictures you submit, the more chances you have to win the door prize. The first 100 women to submit pictures of their physical activity will receive a free commemorative t-shirt. Register at eventbrite.com or visit our website worcesterhealth.org. For more information, please call 410-632-1100, Ext. 1108.
  • Go Red for Wellness Scavenger Hunt: A walk scavenger hunt is scheduled to take place February 13-14, 2021. Residents can get in their steps from 8am-8pm at one for the following park locations:
    • Byrd Park-Snow Hill, Maryland
    • Cypress Park-Pocomoke, Maryland

Those who report the number of wellness rocks found along with a photo will be entered into a free raffle drawing for a chance to win a free prize. Submissions should be emailed to crystal.bell1@maryland.gov.  This is an excellent event for anyone and a way to increase physical activity by walking and participating in a scavenger hunt.
