LIMBO Opening at the Cinema Art Theater

Art Film Sussex

Starting on May 14, 2021 the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will present “Limbo,” an uplifting dramedy about a Syrian musician and other refugees seeking asylum on a remote island in Scotland.

Omar is a promising young musician. Separated from his Syrian family, he is stuck on a remote Scottish island awaiting the fate of his asylum request with four others. As the group takes cultural awareness classes, they slowly await the processing of their refugee claims. This funny and poignant cross-cultural satire subtly sews together the hardship and hope of the refugee experience. [2020, UK, 103 min, Rated: R].

Sara Michelle Fetters of “MovieFreak.com” exclaims “I couldn’t get facets of this film out of my head, certain sequences so eloquently masterful it’s likely they’ll be burned in my brain forever.” Angie Han of “FilmWeek” writes, “The film finds moments of grace, levity, and unexpected beauty.”

Screening times are 3 pm on Fri (May 14), 6 pm on Sat (May 15), 3:45 pm on Sun (May 16), 1 pm on Wed (May 19) and 6 pm on Thu (May 20). Admission is $8 for members and $11 for future members. Customers are encouraged to purchase tickets online at rehobothfilm.com. If seats are available, tickets can be purchased at the theater starting 30 minutes prior to each screening.
