Each year the Art League of Ocean City hosts the Beverly Bassford Memorial Juried Show at the Center for the Arts. Beverly Bassford was a former League member. Following her passing in 1999, her family established a prize to honor her, which later developed into this annual show.
Lisa Scarbath of Pieceful Designs Mosaics has created unique, life-size, beach-themed 3-D mosaics that have been juried into this July show. Lisa’s work is often inspired by her love and appreciation of the bay and the ocean and all the beauty that the Eastern Shore offers. These two 3-dimensional works are created by meticulously choosing the colors, hand-cutting glass to encompass the male and female forms, and dressing them in shell apparel.
Her work will be on display from July 2nd through August 12, 2021 at the Center for the Arts, located at 509 94th Street in Ocean City. A reception will be held on the First Friday July 2nd from 5-7 pm. Information on the show can be found at www.artleagueofoceancity.org.
